CHAIN GEARS

In this tutorial, we will look at cylindrical gears with straight teeth. Gears are so called because of the presence of “teeth” with a certain profile. By engaging them, motion and torque are transmitted. Straight teeth are the simplest gears. Their teeth are cut parallel to the axis of rotation. Two gears of this type can work together if their axes of rotation are parallel.

During transmission, the speed, torque and direction of rotation can be changed. The change in speed and torque is due to the gear ratio of the gear pair. The advantages of gears have made them one of the most common types of gears in mechanical engineering. Refer to the library for more information on straight-toothed cylindrical gears.
