CHAIN GEARS

In this tutorial, we will look at worm gears. Worm gear (gear-screw gear) is a mechanical gear that drives between the worm and the associated gear. Worm gears are a type of gears with usually crossed at an angle of 90 ° geometric axes, whose elements are a worm screw (worm) and worm gear. The worm is a rotating body, on the surrounding surface of which coils are cut.

It can be considered as a gear with helical teeth, the number of which corresponds to the number of its strokes. The worm wheel is a gear with inclined teeth, the geometry of which corresponds to the windings of the worm. For more information on worm gears, contact the library.
