In this lesson we will look at the smooth start-up of induction motors and its application. When starting various units driven by induction motors, electrical and mechanical transients occur, which in many cases are undesirable.
Devices for smooth starting of electric motors are called “” soft-starters “”. They prevent the motors from starting suddenly, easing the power supply.
